Trekking trip to Spiti Valley

This is a trekking trip which gives you an opportunity to experience a Buddhist way of life of Spiti valley which has not changed for hundreds of years. You will not only intract with locals but will also witness their daily farming tasks, cooking and water management. If you are lucky then you may encounter few of world’s most endangered species such as: Tibetan Wolf, Blue Sheep and Snow Leopard. This land is located between 6000m and 3000m altitude. You will wide valleys with full of wild flowers at lower altitude. It is one of the most exciting and remote areas for trekking in India.

  1. Day 1 Arrive Delhi

    Arrive Delhi and check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax.

  2. Day 2 Delhi – Manali (540 kms/ 11-12 hrs)

    Drive to Manali and check in at the hotel.

  3. Day 3 Manali

    A day is free to explore the city by visiting colorful market, Roerich Art Gallery and Hadimba temple.

  4. Day 4 Manali – Kaza (210 kms/ 8 hrs)

    Proceed towards Kaza driving through the panoramic sceneries. Arrive Kaza and check in at the hotel.

  5. Day 5 Kaza

    Explore the destination by visiting local villages and markets. You can also visit the village Kye which has the largest Gompa (Monastery) of Spiti.

  6. Day 6 Kaza – Langza (14 kms/ 1 hr)

    Leave for Langza to visit the Lang (temple) and the main gompa in the area. It has some impressive frescoes and thankas (paintings on silk canvases) and other local artifacts. Spend the overnight in a homestay.

  7. Day 7 Langza – Jureley (4740 m / 5-6 hours)

    Start your trekking journey towards Jureley passing through villages, enjoying geology of Spiti with some amazing views of Chau Chau Kang Nilda and Chau Chau Kang Namo. You may be lucky to see blue sheep. Spend overnight in a camp.

  8. Day 8 Jureley – Mulchay (4560 m / 4-5 hours)

    Start trekking towards Mulchay passing through grazing lands of yaks and horses. Spend overnight in a camp.

  9. Day 9 Mulchay – Demul (4357m / 2-3 hours)

    Start trekking towards Demul which is one of the most isolate village of Spiti valley. Spend overnight in a homestay.

  10. Day 10 Demul – Lhalung (3758m / 4-5 hours)

    Start trekking towards Lhalung visiting Saglung village en-route. Arive Lhalung and drive to Dhankhar. Spend overnight in a homestay or monastery.

  11. Day 11 Dhankar – Kaza (35 kms/ 1 hr)

    Start your day with a visit to ancient monasteries, Dhankar fortand museum and later drive to Kaza.

  12. Day 12 Kaza – Manali (210 kms/ 8 hrs)

    Drive to Manali and rest of the day is free to relax.

  13. Day 13 Manali – Delhi (540 kms/ 11-12 hrs)

    Drive to Delhi and check in at the hotel.

  14. Day 14 Depart from Delhi

    Take your departure flight.
